Overview and Experience
Mr. Ammar Ather Saeed is a Partner at the firm. He did his LLB from Lahore University of Management & Sciences (LUMS) in the year 2009 and his LLM from Cornel University, USA in the year 2011. He is a practicing advocate of the Supreme Courts of Pakistan.
Under the mentorship of Justice (Retd.) Muhammad Ather Saeed and Mr. Anwar Kashif Mumtaz, Ammar has immensely contributed to the development and growth of the firm’s advisory and legislative drafting practice. His ability to identify, analyse and tactfully articulate legal and regulatory issues proves invaluable for rendering complicated legal opinions or comprehensive yet practical structuring advice on transactions.
Ammar put his legal acumen into practice and within a short period of eight years in this profession, has established a strong foothold through an unwavering commitment to excellence. Ammar has extensive experience in all aspects of contentious and non-contentious legal matters including contract negotiations, strategic planning, corporate and financial restructuring. He regularly advises multinational companies, financial institutions and other listed and unlisted companies on company, banking and income tax related matters.
Ammar has also advised a number of financial institutions including banks and brokerage houses on AEOI regime including FATCA and OECD’s global CRS which involves foreign governments obtaining information from financial institutions and exchanging data automatically with other nations that have signed up to the applicable AEOI regime.
He has also been involved in a wide variety of cases before the High Courts of Pakistan, including matters relating to banking, insurance, pharmaceuticals, customs, sales tax, intellectual property, energy and income tax.
Ammar in the past has served as a member executive committee of Public Interest Law Association of Pakistan and is currently serving as Joint Secretary of the Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA).
