Saiduddin & Co. filed a constitutional petition, on behalf of several individuals, before the Honorable Sindh High Court (“SHC”) challenging the vires of Income Support Levy (“ISL”) that is being charged through the Income Support Levy, 2013. A new act whereby movable assets of individuals were being taxed by the federal government on the pretext of social welfare of the oppressed class. Saiduddin & Co. have successfully obtained an Order from the SHC in October wherein the SHC has admitted the petition to regular hearing and in the meantime has allowed tax payers to submit their return of income for the tax year 2013 without filing the ISL forms and without making the ISL payments and have further directed the Federal Board of Revenue to treat the return as proper and valid.
